Manage client requests efficiently.
Understanding Holds
Hold = A client's request to reserve your time
Hold Ranks:
- 1st Hold - Top priority (client can book immediately)
- 2nd Hold - Backup (promoted if 1st releases)
- 3rd Hold - 2nd backup (promoted if 2nd releases)
Managing Holds (/holds)
Hold Statuses
- Pending - Waiting for your response
- Accepted - You confirmed availability
- Declined - You rejected the hold
- Active - Client is deciding whether to book
- Converted - Became a booking
- Released - Client released you
- Expired - Deadline passed
Actions
Accept
- Confirm you're available
- Hold becomes active
- Client has time to decide (booking window)
Decline
- Reject if unavailable
- Hold is cancelled
Decline with Counter
- Propose different dates or rates
- Client receives your counter-offer
- They can accept or decline
Counter Offer Details:
- Change dates
- Propose different rate
- Add notes explaining changes
- Client receives notification instantly
Challenge (if you're on 2nd/3rd hold)
- Force 1st hold to decide quickly
- They have 24 hours (or policy time) to book or release
- If they don't respond, you're promoted
Negotiation Timeline
Each hold shows a timeline with:
- When hold was placed
- Your responses
- Status changes (promotions)
- Counter-offers exchanged
- Messages between you and client

Active Bookings
View confirmed work:
- Project details
- Client info
- Dates and rate
- Total earnings
Booking Actions
Request Date Change
- Propose new dates
- Client approves or declines
- Useful if project timeline shifts
Cancel Booking
- Cancel if needed (see cancellation policy)
- Select cancellation reason
- May incur penalty depending on timing
Create Invoice
- Generate invoice directly from booking
- Dates and rates auto-fill
- Send to client when work is complete
Cancellation Policy
Bookings can be cancelled with different penalties:
- Free cancellation - More than 7 days before start
- Partial penalty - 3-7 days before start
- Full penalty - Less than 3 days before start
Reasons for cancellation:
- Client cancelled
- Project postponed
- Schedule conflict
- Emergency
- Other

On mobile (/):
- Timeline view - See bookings as swipeable cards
- Swipe actions - Swipe left to access quick actions
- One-tap accept - Accept holds with one tap
- Quick invoice - Create invoices from booking cards
Notifications
You'll be notified when:
- New hold placed
- Hold promoted (2nd → 1st)
- Client books your dates
- Client releases hold
- Counter-offer received
- Challenge issued
- Booking date change requested
Check the notification icon (top right) for updates.
Tips
- Respond quickly - Holds expire based on your policy
- Set realistic deadlines - Use booking/challenge windows wisely
- Communicate - Use counter-offers to negotiate
- Track projects - Organize bookings by project for clarity
